Miss calls they happen and are expected. However when the refs seem to not even know the rule that's where many of us draw the line. Many of us do not know all the rules of any sport and often complain when some rule we have never heard of is enforced to which an official pulls out the rule book leaving us to say "that's a stupid rule" yet it is different when the refs don't even know the rules. The ball was hit out of bounds...even if it was a little it was and don't say that it wasn't conclusive because it was. The backjudge saying it wasn't obvious is just a way to cover his ass. I would have more respect for that man if he just said "I missed it" or "I didn't know the rule". Claiming it was a judgement call is pussy shit. Holding is a judgement call, pass interference is a judgement call. A false start is not a judgement call, the "Calvin Johnson rule" isn't a judgement call, and this call tonight wasn't either. We have rules, if the rules are not followed or enforced then why even have them? Officials are paid to know the rules...So study up zebras and try not to cost a team a win next week.
